Are you focusing on the pebbles and sand in your life, or
the big rocks?
Do you know the difference?
Life is full of big rocks...big events that must be done.
The pebbles and sand represent all the little things that can be distractions
or the things we need to do in order to complete a Big Rock.
I am reminded of an analogy given by a university
professor. RocksPebbles and Sand
My question to you is, "Have you allowed all the
pebbles and sand to keep you from your main "big rock", you? Are you
allowing all the unimportant things in your life to get in the way of taking
care of yourself?"
What is the main thing in your life that is the most
important to you? Take that one thing and focus on it. When you focus on
improving yourself ... not in a selfish way, but so you can be a better you and
more able to help others, your life will be full of purpose and meaning.
Are you one of those people who is busy running around
serving others, too busy to do anything for yourself? No time for exercise; no
time for meditation; no time for just sitting and reading a good book? If this
is you, how effective are you?
If this is you, I understand because I was there once.
So, what are you doing about your "rocks"?
Send me your questions and comments and I will answer
them in my next blog.
